2011 Impreza WRX

Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd, the maker of Subaru automobiles, announced on 23rd March 2010, that they will display the new 2011 Impreza WRX model at the New York International Auto Show.

It will be open to the press from March 31 up to April 1 and to the public from April 2 up to April 11. 4-door as well as 5-door models are available and for the first time, they come with a wide body design. The new model is built with a wider track, higher wheels and tyres and the newly designed front area gives it a sporty appeal and a strong road presence. The 2011 Impreza WRX model is to be launched in the U.S markets in summer and the press conference is to be held on April 1, 2010 at the Subaru booth.

  Renault – Founded by the Renault brothers this French automaker post its alliance with Nissan has become the world’s no. 4 largest automaker.

• Peugeot – A product of the Peugeot family business, this company was founded as early as in 1810. Currently, it is the second largest car maker in Europe.
• Citroen – This French automobile company was founded in 1919 by Andre Citroen. Though originally a mass-production car manufacturer it has also come up with many innovative car designs such as the Traction Avant.
• Bugatti – Founded by an Italian immigrant, Ettore Bugatti in Molsheim, France it is a manufacturer of high performance automobiles. In fact, the original company is famed for producing some of the fastest and most exclusive cars in the world.
• Venturi – Born under the name of Manufacture de Voitures de Sport, when translated it simply means manufacturer of sports cars. The original company is known for making mid-engined sports cars such as the Venturi Atlantique. However, it filed for bankruptcy in 2000 and after being bought, it is now located in Monaco producing only extremely limited electric vehicles.

Lexus CT 200h

Recently Lexus announced that the new CT 200h, the first dedicated hybrid vehicle in the premium compact segment, will go on sale in the U.S in early 2011. The 5 door CT 200h made its debut in the Geneva Motor Show in early March and will now be on display from March 21 to April 11 in the New York International Auto Show.

As promised by the Lexus Division Group Vice President and General Manager, Mark Templin, this car is supposed to be a leader in its class for fuel economy and deliver low emissions. In addition, it is promised to be a dynamic, fun car that will titillate the “eco-conscious, young consumers and symbolize urban, luxury living.”

The CT 200h is built with a 1.8L Atkinson cycle four-cylinder gas engine with VVT-i and Lexus Hybrid Drive Technology. It will also be equipped with four modes; Normal, Eco, EV and Sport. Like all Lexus cars, it will be equipped with many standard safety features such as anti-lock brakes, Brake Assist, TRAC, VSC to name a few.

The GE Rolls-Royce Fighter Engine Team has hit success again with its third new production-configuration engine which marks a continuation of a year of major progress and milestones for the F136 program.

All these afterburner tests were carried out in an advanced testing facility at GE. The major objectives that were aimed at were reached during this phase of testing, which includes an engine nozzle that is common to both F-35 engine programs. They also achieved the objective of maintaining interchangeability of the Joint Strike Fighter aircraft with the F136 engine.

The six F136 engines are scheduled for testing this year for measuring engine performance and endurance since the competitive engine for the F-35 program is consistently demonstrating steady progress and significant milestones.

Corolla

The Toyota Corolla has been the favorite small car of Australia for the past decade or so – and now it has been made even better by the safety of the vehicle stability control (VSC), which has now been made standard across the range.

All the Corolla sedan models which have been produced since December, and the ones available in Toyota dealerships now – have the standard fitment of VSC – this also comes with traction control.

The main thing to remember is that these two technologies combine, giving the driver better control of the car – especially in slippery and low-traction conditions. An upgrade was made last year, which made the stability and traction control standard for the Corolla hatch.

Honda (UK) and Team Dynamics Motorsport have announced the Honda Racing Team driver line-up for the assault on the 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Matt Neal, the two-time BTCC champion will be partnered once again by Gordon “Flash” Shedden – and this marks a reunion of the two drivers who had competed together in 2007 for Honda.

Honda’s traditional racing color – Championship White paint, will be worn by this year’s racing Civics. In fact, this paint is that of the new Civic Type R MUGEN 200 cars too!

Steve Neal, the Team Principal of Team Dynamics said that Team Dynamics and Honda have a huge heritage, the brand has won two championships back to back, and having the support of Honda (UK) is great – a company is backing a car that has been built in Britain.
