Safety concerns over Toyota’s sudden acceleration and malfunctioning brakes system caused Toyota to offer the lowest auto loan rates in its history at 0 percent, which in turn spurred auto buying activity for the entire industry.

Toyota automotive sales saw a record 41 percent surge while General Motors saw a 21 percent increase compared to the previous year. Overall, U.S. vehicle sales increased by a huge 24 percent overall thanks to special manufacturer financing deals and other attractive incentives from all car manufacturers.

In light of a worldwide recall on most of its vehicle models which now includes Lexus, Toyota tackled the problem head on with its attractive financing and generous rebates all the while doubling its global vehicle production to 773,297 cars. The Japanese auto manufacturer raised domestic production numbers to 347,281 vehicles.

The 1950’s were a good time when the Ford cars being launched. They had an amazing market and the Ford Motor Company had started out during the 1901. So they had quite a good experience when it came to making amazing types of cars and much more. During the 50’s the Ford specials were not really considered to be such classic cars like they are today. In fact they were seen as more of a convenient vehicle which could easily be used as a sports car by young men. The look was impressive; the car had a great finish. The world’s most expensive expo has opened in Shanghai – China hopes that this 2010 World Expo will show everyone proof that its influence is rising globally. The theme of the event is sustainable development, and at least 250 countries as well as international organizations are taking part to showcase their unique cultures and personalities.

The Chinese President Hu Jintao declared the Expo 2010 Shanghai open, during the big opening – in which at least 2300 musicians and performers from different parts of the globe took part. The slogan of the Expo has been termed, “Better city, better life in music and dance”. The riverfront of the city was lit up with thousands and thousands of fireworks and laser – organizers are now saying that this will be the most prominent multimedia event ever.

The Expo is the most expensive one in history till date, and is taking place between April 30 and October 31. The Expo will demonstrate the most recent green technology from the 191 countries that are taking part. China is incidentally the first developing country to hold an Expo – and efforts are on to promote this event as friendly to the environment. The country’s largest solar plant has been created as part of these efforts, and zero emission vehicles are being used for transportation. However, it must be noted that once the Expo ends, most of the exhibition sites would be demolished.

Renault-Nissan Alliance

The construction of the very 1st Renault-Nissan Alliance Battery Plant in Europe has some of the most important production rate of lithium-ion based batteries. They have begun at Sunderland, UK and their chief operation has been going on at Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.

There are supposed to be new groundbreaking works that have been proposed in the ceremony. The Nissan’s Sunderland car plant has been marking the beginning of this £210-million project. There will be new operations working from 2012 along with initial annual reports. The capacities have been growing through 60,000 units. The operation will work on supplying fresh batteries to Nissan as well as Renault electric vehicles.

There would be new plants that would be created along with 200 new jobs given by Nissan along with the further extension of their supply chain all across US. There are the previously announced new locations and one of them would be in Cacia, Portugal. These plans would make battery production at a wider scale. There would also be the one in France at the Renault’s Flins plant.
