If you want to be one of those people who use the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) highway lane without a sweat, you can go on and purchase a Honda Civic GX or FCX Clarity. The Japanese manufacturer which produces them announced today that the two models will have this privilege until January 2015.

This has been made possible after the California Assembly Bill 1500, which extends HOV lane access to Inherently Low Emission Vehicles (ILEV), has been passed. This means that CNG powered vehicles, which until now had HOV access until January 1, 2011, will be able to use the lane for four more years. As the single OEM in the US currently selling CNG-powered vehicle designed and manufactured for retail sale, Honda is perhaps one of the biggest beneficiaries of the bill.

According to Honda, California is currently packed with refueling stations for GX owners. If refueling from a public station is too much for you, than the home system offered by BRC FuelMaker, which taps into the house’s natural gas pipe, might be the right choice.

Murano Diesel

Automobile giant Nissan’s iconic car, Murano, is now available in Europe with a diesel engine bringing it up to the class of a car that every man desires for. A midsize crossover SUV, introduced in 2003, Murano has been a hit for years even without the diesel engine. That was the one thing that needed to be added to its expressive armoury to deliver its full potential.

This was the only obstacle that the Murano had where other manufacturers gained ground and cashed in, namely, Land Rover and Mitsubishi. With the introduction of the diesel engine, the Murano dCi model is expected to push upsales by 90% in the diesel segment alone. Priced at £37,795, the model hits showrooms on September 2010.

Whether the Murano owners choose the petrol or the diesel version of the car, they will enjoy every bit of the benefits that come with the drive. Although I started off on the roads with a car like most people when I was seventeen, within a few years I had decided that my passion was really for motors stationed on just the two wheels. Ever since then I have always ridden motorbikes and I haven’t owned a car for about seven years.

The only problem with riding bikes is ultimately you are going to want something more powerful. So it proved for me, about once every year! I started with a little chicken chaser with a 50 cc engine, soon progressed to a 125, then a 250, followed by a 650, and now I have just bought my first 1000 cc motorbike!

I have to say that it has been a real problem with insurance though. My insurance company before was the same people who had always insured me, including when I first started driving a car, and as such it is an insurance company that is predominantly aimed at car drivers. I always thought that this didn’t matter, but ober the years I have started to think that the cost is pretty high, and my quote for my new bike was enormous! It was actually a figure that I woCuldn’t be able to afford to pay, so I decided to look for a company that was more used to dealing with bike insurance.
