Renault-Nissan Alliance

The construction of the very 1st Renault-Nissan Alliance Battery Plant in Europe has some of the most important production rate of lithium-ion based batteries. They have begun at Sunderland, UK and their chief operation has been going on at Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.

There are supposed to be new groundbreaking works that have been proposed in the ceremony. The Nissan’s Sunderland car plant has been marking the beginning of this £210-million project. There will be new operations working from 2012 along with initial annual reports. The capacities have been growing through 60,000 units. The operation will work on supplying fresh batteries to Nissan as well as Renault electric vehicles.

There would be new plants that would be created along with 200 new jobs given by Nissan along with the further extension of their supply chain all across US. There are the previously announced new locations and one of them would be in Cacia, Portugal. These plans would make battery production at a wider scale. There would also be the one in France at the Renault’s Flins plant.

The road map for electric cars in Milton Keynes has just been released. The Milton Keynes Council and the Renault Nissan Alliance has been bringing some of the most incredible benefits through their reached agreement.

There has been mutual consultation on how zero emission cars can be brought to the mainstream and how increasing their usage would be able to solve several global problems. There have been several agreements made according to the choices of the council’s Low Carbon Living target. This is a wonderful aim to bring Milton Keynes in the forefront along with some of the most incredible creations of network vehicles with recharging points along the country side.

The new sets of road maps along with the newly framed infrastructure of Borough are bringing new results and defining counsels in the issue. There have been differing agreements according to the low carbon living aims. These are supposed to meet the national as well as the international levels of aims. There are proper recharging points given to people who come across through this way of living. Milton Keynes had even signed up with Joined-Cities Plan along with a formation of a new carbon emission conscious and controlling group. These have been funded through the Government plans.

On the seventh of April this year, the two companies, Renault-Nissan Alliance (formed in the year 1999) and Daimler AG announced in Brussels, their decision regarding initiating a strategic cooperation with a broad range.

This puts both companies at an advantage as they can now share practices, as well as derive a greater profit from ongoing and future projects. There will be an equity exchange between the two companies, with each receiving a stake of 3.1% in the other’s company. According to the information provided by Daimler AG and the Renault-Nissan Alliance, the primary intent behind this cooperation is to collaborate in the areas of minimizing their carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and getting an edge over their competition. The CEO of the Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler AG’s Board of Management Chairman, Carlos Ghosn and Dr. Dieter Zetsche explained to the press, the how and why of the strategic agreement which is going to be implemented without delay.

Nissan Micra

The Renault-Nissan alliance has inaugurated a plant in Chennai, India – this is the first dedicated Alliance global plant, with a production capacity of up to 400,000 units.

The Renault-Nissan Alliance Chairman and CEO, Carlos Ghosn inaugurated this vehicle manufacturing plant in the presence of more than 1000 guests. The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of the representatives of state government, led by Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi – the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

The plant shows an investment of 45 billion rupees (990 million dollars) and has the capacity to produce 400,00 units per year, at full ramp up. The initial employment capacity will be 1500 workers, when production starts in May 2010. According to estimates of the company, at least 6000 jobs will be opened up in the region.
