2009 Ford Edge

There is a nice addition in the Windy City as it sees another version of the new Edge CUV that seems to suggest that Ford is really seeking to give a cutting edge to its quite well-known crossover vehicle.

The Edge Sport will be the first crossover from Ford that will offer an elective 22-inch wheel-and-tire combination. The vehicle has been given an aggressive look that is further boosted by low-profile Pirelli Scorpion Zero rubber (40-series)

It is expected that it will include some other custom option packages, but at this start the Edge Sport includes a distinctive front air dam with a body kit that consists of eight pieces. Its Founder Gray smoked head makes its exterior looks quite nice with specific Sport badges, taillamp lenses and double exhaust tips.

In the Chicago Auto Show when the Edge Sport first appeared on the floor it was shown in Sport Blue, however, it has also been announced that it will come with three other particular paints in the model-year 09.

When it’s about interior looks, you would find gray leather seats that have suede-feel inserts the light gray stitching is on contrast that gives a nice feel to the cabin.

Instrument panel of the Sport has been completed with edged-metal look and its design is, indeed, quite appealing for crossover customers who have been looking for a sportier custom feel with nice look.

Just like the vehicle in edge line-up, a wide range of other options has also been offered with this Sport edition that include the SYNC which a nice information system, Vista roof that is quite huge. It’s worth mentioning that its SYNC has been developed in a joint venture with Microsoft.

It is worth mentioning that just like other Edge versions, the Sport also has the same powertrain package, but for those who were looking for something more, one of Ford’s executives, Derrick Kuzak stated that they would definitely see something different soon.

The 2009 Ford will reach dealers in autumn, but let’s see how far it is what Kuzak says.
