2013 Accord Coupe Concept-A Review

Honda presented the 2012 Accord Coupe Concept in 2012 North American International Auto Show; this Concept model is equipped with lots of “wow” features. State-of-the-art technological features have been used by this renowned automobile brand in its most awaited model which will be available in market in fall 2012.

Executive Vice President of sales for American Honda John Mendel said, “Marking the 30th anniversary of U.S. production, this new ninth-generation Accord will raise the bar again through a tour de force of new Honda powertrain and safety technologies, geared to ensure that Honda and the Accord continue to lead in fuel economy, safety and fun-to-drive performance.” Athletic style and latest technology has been used in this fabulous and extremely stylish model. Let’s see the details of this 9th generation Coupe Concept of Honda.

Powertrain

2013 Accord is powered by improved and new powertrains and for the very first time Honda has included 2.4L direct-injection engine and 2 motor plug-in hybrid systems which have been derived from Earth Dreams Powertrain Technologies. A part from this, V-6 Accord will be the very first Sedan from Honda which will be powered by V-6 with six speed automatic transmission. It is expected that Accord Sedan as well as Accord Coupe Models will achieve best EPA ratings.

Accord Sedan and Accord Coupe will be equipped with 2.4L 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine which will feature Direct Injection. Exceptional acceleration and responsive shifting will be achieved by these powertrains when they will be paired either with 6-speed manual transmission or improved Continuously Variable Transmission.

2013 Accord Sedan and Accord Coupe will also be presented with 3.5L, 24 valve SOHC I-VTEC V-6 engine which can be coupled with 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Variable Cylinder Management Technology will be utilized by the models which will feature engine with 6-speed automatic transmission.

Honda Eco-Assist System

Upcoming 2013 Accord models will also feature Honda ECO Assist System which is a ground-breaking technology and plays a major role to improve the efficient and effective vehicle operation with the help of single command. Exterior

Athletic styling has been used in exterior of 2012 Accord Coupe Concept. Dynamic lines of front bumper are made attractive by improved 4-cylinder honeycomb grille as well as deep multi-reflector headlights. Lower fog-light spoilers are highlighted by chrome inlays, further stylish looks are added by 20-inches, and machine finished 5 spoke wheels. A back taillight flounces into the body whereas trunk-lid spoiler and huge exhaust finishers incorporate inside the bumper and gives it muscular looks.

Size of Accord Coupe will remain same but the Sedan model will be available with improved sporty looks. Length and weight has been reduced for 2012 Accord Sedan and enhanced driving dynamics and improved responsive handling is added.

Interior

Interior of 2012 Accord Coupe and Sedan will be available with upgraded safety features. Honda has paid special attention while designing the safety features and safety of driver as well as security and visibility are given importance.
