They’ve only gone and done it again! ŠKODA has had the Midas touch for the last few years, that’s for sure – especially when it comes to Auto Express Magazine’s Driver Power customer satisfaction survey. From pushing Lexus off the ‘Best Manufacturer’ top spot in 2009, ŠKODA followed this massive achievement up the following year, again winning the Best Manufacturer accolade. Then in 2010, not only did they win this title yet again completing a hat trick – they also dominate the top 5! Their Superb came 1st in the ‘Best Car’ category, with the Yeti coming second and the Octavia in 4th. Very impressive from the Czech, VAG-owned firm!

So what about this year? You guessed it, ŠKODA have been at it again, bagging more awards! At this rate, they will need one of their Tardis-like ŠKODA Superb estates to cart all the awards trophies around in! In this, the Auto Express Driver Power Customer Satisfaction survey’s 11th year, compiled by 29,000 votes from motorists around the UK, the ŠKODA Yeti and Superb have swapped places, the Yeti now occupying top spot, the Superb in 2nd and the Octavia again cemented in 4th.

ŠKODA attributes its phenomenal success in the UK to its excellent customer-focused cars, dealer network and their head office’s customer service. 2011 was a record year for ŠKODA in the UK, racking up new car registrations of more than 45,000, which is up 9.2% up on 2010, giving them a market share record of 2.3%.

If you’ve not got the budget for a brand new ŠKODA, a second hand ‘used’ one can make for an extremely sensible purchase. But as with any used car, it’s imperative to ensure it comes with an extended car warranty worth the paper it’s written on – which is what Quentin Willson states makes Warrantywise’s packages so refreshingly different.

Long may ŠKODA’s success continue, along with their great TV adverts, general pride in being that little bit different and of course the winning formula of Andreas Mikkelsen giving ŠKODA UK Motorsport a double win in the International Rally Championship, bagging both the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ awards!
