From the late 70’s to the early 80’s these machines have ruled the roads and still have a place in the hearts of most of the car enthusiasts. Here is looking at some of the most favored classic muscle cars of all time.
It all started with the 1969 Pontiac GTO. A 6.3 litre V8 engine, in the normal sized Tempest shell, this car created history and brought up the sales of classic muscle cars to a standing point. Very surprised at the response generated by the people, the manufacturers came up with a 6.5 litre V8 which managed to cough up 366bhp.
The other monster on the road, the Dodge Challenger struck the markets in 1970 and were wiped out from the car dealers in a number of days and were sitting in the driveways or rolling on the roads. The classic muscle cars for sale created mayhem all over as it sold more than 80,000 in the first year. Variations of this model were also created with the later model consisting of a 7.0 litre Hemi engine moving at 425bhp. This one was considered the king of the roads and managed to keep the title for a while.
Last but not the least was the much fascinating Dodge Charger which helped kick the sales to 37,000 in the first year. You could seat 8 people in this which reached 100km/h in five and a half seconds. This car even made it to the movies like a few others as well.
