Toyota Fortuner to Get Smaller 2.5-litre Engine

Toyota is planning to launch a couple of new variants to its popular Fortuner range. Japanese automaker, Toyota is set to add a new base variant with a smaller 2.5-litre diesel engine, which is likely to develop 142 bhp.
The new variant will be available only with manual gearbox, in two-wheel drive configuration. Also, a new top end 3.0-litre diesel Fortuner version will now be equipped with automatic transmission with all-wheel-drive configuration, Currently, the 3.0-litre Fortuner range embraces a base manual 4×2 variant, a 2WD automatic middle trim and a top-of-line 4×4 variant with manual transmission and powered by the same 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine.
The new variant is likely to retail around RS 21 lakh and expected to be launched before the end of year.
