New Citroen C1Citroen have launched their new C1. It comes with some brand new features. But, is it worth investing in a new C1? This car has been doing the rounds since 2005. However, the 2014 comes with different features than its predecessors. The C1 has been a commercial success. Over 760,000 vehicles have been sold. This is a great sum considering that the city car market is somewhat oversaturated. With many new city cars proclaiming to be the ultimate city car, does this live up to the standard? The VW Up! Bentley Continental GT3-R to Cost $337,000

Bentley Continental GT3-RThe Continental GT3-R will be heading to Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this weekend to be shown off by Bentley before heading to showrooms. The steep price tag of $337,000 is even higher than the Bentley Mulsanne flagship’s starting price. Some of it can be attributed to the Bentley Continental GT3-R’s status as the fastest accelerating car, going from 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, the best company has ever launched.

Toyota Fortuner to Get Smaller 2.5-litre Engine

Toyota is planning to launch a couple of new variants to its popular Fortuner range. Japanese automaker, Toyota is set to add a new base variant with a smaller 2.5-litre diesel engine, which is likely to develop 142 bhp.

The new variant will be available only with manual gearbox, in two-wheel drive configuration. Also, a new top end 3.0-litre diesel Fortuner version will now be equipped with automatic transmission with all-wheel-drive configuration, Currently, the 3.0-litre Fortuner range embraces a base manual 4×2 variant, a 2WD automatic middle trim and a top-of-line 4×4 variant with manual transmission and powered by the same 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine.

New Engines to Power Mahindra’s Compact SUV

New Engines to Power Mahindra’s Compact SUVMahindra & Mahindra is scheduling to launch compact SUV-S102 in 2015. Company also plans to invest in a flexible engine plant, which can produce both, petrol and diesel engines to accomplish market demands.

Mahindra upcoming SUV – S102 will have smaller 1.2-litre, three cylinder engine. The engine is being jointly developed with SsangYong, one of the leading automobile manufacturers of South Korea since 1954, which embraces petrol and diesel engine that will power its future SUV model. The engine include five different configurations ranging from 1.2-litre to 1.5-litre, four cylinder engines are will be utilized by SsangYong, while Mahindra’s upcoming compact SUV (S102), will be integrated with 1.2-litre three cylinder engine, which is undergoing tests and is estimated to launch in 2015.

 

Honda’s Dream run in India Continues, Beaten M&M in July Sale

HondaAccording to sales figure released by Japanese automaker ‘Honda’ on Friday, reveals that in July14 the company has sold more passenger vehicles than rival Indian automaker ‘Mahindra & Mahindra’.  The vigorous performance was mainly due to incremental volumes of newly launch Honda’s first MPV ‘mobilio’ in July last week. After launch and just in a week time, company has received 10,000 bookings for mobilio. This strong performance pushes ‘Honda’ to third spot in Indian market.

Honda car India sold 15,709 vehicles in July14, almost thousand more than Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), though in June, Honda was trailing M&M by 464 units, according to sales figures released by automaker. But, ‘Honda’ still behind the M&M in year to date figure. This healthy figure assisted the company to grow over 80% in FY14.
